Brad and elizebeth parents had aranged for them to be maried. They had got off to a rocky start.could they made it work?
They fell asleep on Saturday night. Brad woke up. He found that he was beyond the point of falling back to sleep. He tried to get out of bed without waking her up. It failed.
“Hey! Where are you going?” she asked. “I was going to go for a walk. I used to go hear often in vacation as a kid. I gues i want to relive my childhood a bit. “He told her.
“Can i come with you?”she asked. ” of course. “He said.they got up. They got dressed. He beleved that ladies should wear skirts or dresses.she rarely wore dresses ir skirt.she brought one dress.she wore a green t shirt and jeens and flip flops.
They started to walk outside the cabin. Neither one was sure was sure who took whose hand.they both looked at eachother. They smiled.
” so you used to come hear as a child”she asked. “I am prety sure i came hear while i was still in the womb. It was a favorate place of everyone in my family.”he said.
“It is a beautiful spot.”she said ” it really is. Do you like going in a canoe? “He asked. “I love going out in the watter. “She said.”want to rent a canoe tomorrow? He asked. “Sounds great.”she said.
“I though we could play paint ball as well. “He said. She chuckled.” i get to schoot you with paint?”she asked. “Well you have to get to me first. My evasive tactics are legendary. ” he said. “We will see about that. “She said. He laughed. ” oh ok!”he said.
“I figured today would be a low key day. With church in the morning and night i figured that we not do too much.”he said.
“Yea thats fine. I assume that we are going to a baptist church?”she asked. “There is a Baptist church not to far from hear. Yes it is independent fundamental Baptist. “He said. “I assumed as much.”she said.
They walked back to the cabin. “I figured that we would have a light breakfast. Toast and cofee. Tomorrow we can have a bigger breakfast. “He said. “Yea thats fine i understand that we are on a bit of a tight schedule. “She said. “I promise that today will not be indicative of the rest of the week. I do want this to be relaxing week. “He said
“You dont have a clipboard with a idomized itinerary of what we are doing?”she asked in a playfull tone.”no i dont have a clipboard. Please dont look in the blue bag.no i dont have a clip bored!”he answered. She laughed.
” you probably think i am extremly dul!” he said. ” it is not a deal breaker. “She reaplied. ” ok. ” he said. They both laughed.
He made the cofee. She made toast. They got ready for church. She put on the only dress she packed with her. It was a black dress with pink and white flowers on it. He wore a suit .
He took her hand. They walked to the car. The church was a about 15 minutes away from the campground. The church was a newer church. It had only been around for 15 years. The car parked in the parking lot.
They walked to the church. “Hello brad. Come without your family? “A man in his thirties asked. “I am my honey moon.”brad said. “Oh wow.congratulations. this must be your bride?” he asked. “It is.this is my wife libby elzebeth. “He said. “Im jim noris it is good to meat you”he said.
They talked to several of the church members before they went to there seats. Some he remembered was from earlier visits,others were new to him.
Libby was laughing. “What?”he asked. “You! You know how many times you introduced me as libby then changed it to elizebeth. ” she said.
“I kinda gave you that name. I dont know. You could hate it. “He said. “I like that you came up with a pet naime for me. Its fine. I like it. You can introduce me as libby. ” she said. “Ok!” he said.
“You do know your really silly. ” she told her. “Oh ok ” he said. They both laughed. .
The church was not quite what she was used to. Her church had a worship team with a band.they used power point. The church had high tech equipment. This church did not. They used a piano and organ. The church sang from hymbooks. They did record the messages. She was not use to it.
She perfered newer music not the old hyims. She found the music time a bit boring. It was quick. The preaching was prety good.
Afterward they went back to the cabin. He helped her make lunch. “What did you think of church? “He asked. “Interesting. A bit different. “She said. “I suspected it was. ” he said. “I gues i will have to adjust. ” she said. ” i know it will be an adjustment. ” he said.
They had steak potatoes and vegetables for lunch.after the meal,they decided to take a nap.
“Your not ashamed of me?” she asked. “No not at all. “He said. “I dont embarrass you?”she asked. “No you dont.do i embariss you?”he asked. “No you are a bit uptight! “She said. “Me upright no not me! He said. She laughed. He huged her. She held on to him.
They went to the same church they did in the morning. She got used to it a little more. After church they went to the cabin. They roasted marshmellows.
“Ok what are you doing?”she asked.”roasting marshmallow! “He said “you do know your marshmellows is on fire?”she asked.”i love my marshmellows burnt to a crisp. ” he said. “Are you going to put that in a smore?”she asked. “Of course. Smores with charred marshmellows are the best.” he said. “I will take your word for it. ” she told her.
After the marshmellows were roasted, she got out her guitar. “You play the guitar?” he asked. “I do. “She said.
She staetted playing a song he bad never heard before. She played a song called “mighty to save. “He liked her signing voice. She had a soft sothing vioce.he found himself transfixed.
“Your realy a good singer. “He told her. “Thank you.”she said. She played several ccm songs.then she played a cover of street with no naime. Then she played the theme from star trek. “You would know that one! ” he said. “Yes i would. ” she said.
“Do you know any hyms?”he asked.she played “i come to the garden alone. ” he liked just sitting with her. He was quite taken with her. She caught him smiling. She smiled back.
They then got ready for bed. “I had a good day today. ” she told him.”i did too. ” he said.then they went to sleep.
